Today a couple of things are happening. We are heading North to Farragut State Park in Athol, ID. It’s the first time we will be staying a a state park. Heck, it’s the first time we will all be staying in the camper over night. We also have to test out some of our fixes for issues we had during our drive up. If you haven’t read that post, here is the link for the issues we had.
We actually set off about a half hour earlier than we had planned. Are you impressed? I am! Our drive went pretty smoothly. Mike even successfully filled the gas tank at Costco with the trailer attached! Way to go Mikey!!
We stopped along the way for some lunch, it’s really nice dragging your kitchen and your bathroom along with you for when you need food or bathroom breaks. It was sandwiches for lunch, probably a common lunch we will have on travel days.
During our lunch stop, we discovered that our fixes for our sliding cupboard contents and our bathroom mirror that flipped up during travel actually worked! The shelf liner kept things from moving toward the door and pushing it open. When we looked for a fix for the mirror, we bought a closure thingy but it wasn’t going to work so we took it back to the store. We bought another possible solution in Cascade when we went to pick Braxton up from camp, but ultimately Mike let me try a super basic no drilling required attempt at fixing the issue: a Command hook and a hair tie. It worked! Aren’t Command hooks fantastic?!?!

When we got to Farragut State Park, we had a nice quiet spot with water, electric, and sewer. This means all the appliances you want to use and nice long hot showers!
We went for a bike ride around the park and to Lake Coeur d’Alene after making a stop at the Museum at the Brigg and finding that it had already closed. So here’s the thing: I like to run. I can run for awhile. I can bike with gentle hills and down mountains. Up mountains? Nope. Need more training there. Luckily my sweet Braxton hung back with me when I petered out and had to walk my bike up the mountain. Where was Mikey? Oh, he was way ahead on his electric bike. Yep, we were eating his dust.
When we made it back to the Airstream and it was clear the ride didn’t completely do me in, Braxton made rice, teriyaki meatballs and broccoli for dinner. It was delish!
Time flies when your having fun so it’s off to bed for an early start tomorrow.

Farragut State Park…I was stationed there for a couple of years early 70’s. I was promoted to Boise, I still wonder if that really was a promotion. Oh well it worked out. Interesting place with some history worth spending time to learn.
Hey Bill! It’s an amazing place for sure! I could see spending several days here enjoying the sites and learning more about the history.
Thanks for following along with us!
An electric bike? I found the secret to surviving a marriage is not let your husband have a toy with more power than you do.
Start peddling Mike.

Good tip, Kathy. I guarantee it won’t be long before Braxton adopts the bike!
