Today I woke up bright and early, really though, it was bright long before I woke up. We are pretty far North and the sun stays up late and rises early here. I went for a run, and it felt great! I get fidgety if I don’t get a run in after a couple days. Had some great views along the way!
We spent the rest of the morning at the hot springs which was really nice. Not super busy, not too hot, just perfect! We took a break from the pool for lunch back at the Airstream where w had a nice salad and strawberries accompanied by a great view of the mountain.
After lunch, we made a short hike up to the original bath houses. I found this so fascinating! This is what started it all at that Fairmont Hot Springs. It was a really nice hike with some incredible views Quick question: Shouldn’t every hike be followed by some ice-cream? Probably. So, we got some.
Down the mountain from the Fairmont Hot Springs there are a couple small strip malls. In one of them, there was a little grocery store (surprise, surprise – we were told there wasn’t anywhere to get groceries here, that is why we stopped in Cranbrook to stock up). We bought some Canadian beer and a big carwash type sponge that I want to put on the handlebars of one of the bikes because I think it’s hitting the back window when we go over bumps. It seems like it needs some sort of cushion or something.
We then played a round of mini-golf and then spent the rest of the afternoon at the hot springs. After our fingers turned to wrinkly raisins for the second time of the day, we headed back to the Airstream. Mike smoked some burgers, and it was a beautiful night to eat outside.
Mike cut the sponge that I bought for the bike handlebars in half and stuck it on the one closest to the window. We will see how this fix works – stay tuned!!
Not a bad day, pretty darn great in fact.
Additional details about the Fairmont Hot Springs Resort:
- The hot springs are not included in the price of your stay, but you do receive a discounted price for entry for a full day pass. You can come and go as much as you want, as long as you don’t loose your entry voucher.
- The use of most of the hotel amenities are included when you have a spot at the RV resort, including use of the gym, mini-golf, archery, basketball, and a bunch of other activities. For mini-golf, they have a 9-hole upper course, the farther down the hillside from there is an 18-hole course.
- If you can make a trip to this place, I encourage you to do so. They are really trying hard to recover from COVID, as are many places. This place has a lot of history behind it and so much to offer visitors. It’s beautiful – they even have a place for weddings up near the original bath houses with a breathtaking view. The staff is working hard and it’s obvious they care about their guests. Here’s the link for you to check it out.
Just might have to put this trip on our bucket list! Love all the pics. Stay safe and keep having a glorious work free, adventure filled, family fun time!
Thank you Lisa! I think you and your family would have a great time! I am sure Braxton will have lots of stories for David! Thanks for following along!
