Welcome to our blog about our adventure to Alaska as first time Airstreamers (aka Airstream owners)! What do you do if you have a demanding job in healthcare and need a break to spend some much overdue time with family? How about quitting your job, buying an Airstream and heading north to Alaska to enjoy nature?
In this blog we will detail “Our Trip of a Lifetime”. It’s an adventure from our home in Idaho, through Canada to Alaska, and back. It will be an eight week adventure of firsts for us. We will divulge the ups and the downs, the ins and the outs as we try to figure out this new world of RV’ing.
Our trip includes visiting places like Fairmont Hot Springs Resort and Radium Hot Springs. We also head to Skagway, Destruction Bay, and Coldfoot. In Denali we have a seaplane trip planned. Homer is the Halibut Capital of the World, so of course we have to do a halibut fishing trip when we’re there. And while in Skagway, we will paddle our way on a canoe wildlife safari.
Our overnights will be at a variety of locations. These include campgrounds, RV parks and Harvest Hosts. We will also do some boondocking – another first for us!
Stay tuned to see what happens as we pack up, gas up, hook up and head out!

Keep on trucking’—and have the very best time! Hugs!
Thanks Barb! Hugs right back at you!
