Happy Canada Day!! July 1 is Canada day.
Other than than being a holiday, there’s not a lot to report for today. Our drive from Jasper to Grand Prairie took us on Highway 40. It was a rough road until we reached the area around the oil fields. It was a really nice road around the oil fields, perfect in fact. Hmmm…. I wonder why….
Rain. Lots of rain. It rained all day. Mother nature doesn’t just rain on American holidays, she rains on Canadian ones, too.
Tonight we are staying at the Rotary Club in Grand Prairie. It’s a back in spot. Mike did a great job, but we had to park so the back end of the Airstream was not only hanging off the pad, it was essentially hanging off a cliff. We were so far back that we couldn’t even put down the rear stabilizers as they were past where the ground under the Airstream ended. We have full hookups, 30amp service. The lady at the front office was really nice and let us know there would be fireworks after 11pm for Canada Day. The sun goes down really late here so they have to stay up way past my bedtime for fireworks. We did hear the booming, one shook the Airstream. We were all too tired to get up to watch them though.
